This one is all about the design. Over a May weekend at a private estate in Marshall, Virginia, Summer & Co. Events turned the house, the lawns and the fields of the hunt country into a series of rooms, each with its own palette and mood.

The rehearsal dinner sat under a white tent dressed in blue-and-white chinoiserie linens, with low garden roses and peonies running the length of every table and a hand-painted seating chart set against the trees.

For the wedding day the front door of the house became the altar, framed in climbing white blooms, with rows of garden chairs set along the stone walk. Across the lawn, striped green cabanas, lounges and a round moss-topped table of escort cards invited guests to linger. Darling & Daughters did the flowers throughout, and Susan Gage Caterers handled the food.

The reception was held under a glass tent hung with greenery and lanterns, set with pink-and-coral linens, ruby peonies and tall teal tapers. As the sun went down, a mirror ball took over and the dancing ran late into the night.
