Some settings are so singular that the whole design simply listens to them. For Caroline and Bobby's late-summer celebration in East Hampton, that setting was a sculptural white house above the ocean, all curves and glass, set into the dune grass.
Crystal Moriarty of Todd Events designed the evening. Guests arrived by a boardwalk through the dunes and gathered on terraces overlooking the water before moving into a glass pavilion built for the night.
Inside, hundreds of ceramic pendants hung from the ceiling like a constellation, warm against the blue hour outside. There was a raw bar, a live band and lounges tucked into the greenery, and once the moon came up the dance floor never really cleared.
From the air, the drone photographs show what made the night special: a lantern of a pavilion glowing in the middle of the dunes, the house curving beside it and the Atlantic just beyond.
